Here at Blossom Hill Crafts, we offer both handbuilding and wheelthrowing classes for beginners interested in learning to work with clay.  Check out what classes are available below!

Handbuilding Classes

Learn to sculpt in our new, state-of-the-art handbuilding space!  You'll develop many techniques including: rolling out and working with slabs of clay, slipping and scoring, adding texture to your pieces, and more. Signup for an available class below! New classes will be posted as they become available.

Wheel Throwing Classes

Weekday Morning Wheel Throwing Classes

Course Duration: 6 weeks

Time: Mondays, 9:30am

Class 1 will run for 3hrs 9:30am - 12:30pm & Classes 2-6 will run for 2hrs 9:30 - 11:30am (you are more than welcome to extend your time and stay longer in the studio, to practice.)

Beginner Wheel Throwing with Berry Bowls

In this class, along with learning wheel throwing basics, you will also learn to make a functional berry bowl which will include how to shape and add holes for drainage. And of course, creativity is encouraged but not required.


In our 6 week series, you will learn to make functional pottery from start to finish as well as receive a set of basic high quality tools to keep. Open Studio is available the first 4 weeks to all beginning students 7am - 11pm because practice is strongly recommended. At the end of the 6th week you could have 5-15 finished glazed pots. More than 15 pots could be made but we cannot guarantee you will have time to glaze them all in the final class. Upon completion of this series you will be eligible to continue on into membership and an Intermediate Weekly class or enroll in another Beginner Class series. Each day/time has a different teacher and most of the time a different series project.

Beginner Wheel Throwing with Handbuilt Faceted Mug

In this class, along with learning wheel throwing basics, you will also be taught how to handbuild a faceted mug. This handbuilding project will teach you how to apply texture to a slab of clay, cut out the body of the mug using a pattern, fold the clay into the mug shape, and add a handle.


In our 6 week series, you will learn to make functional pottery from start to finish as well as receive a set of basic high quality tools to keep.
